New Arrivals at ARI

We welcome the following new members at ARI:

01.11.2011    Margarida Castro Neves develops user tools to access the Virtual Observatory's data holdings. She is part of the GAVO project.

01.11.2011    Markus Hartmann is postdoc in the group of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Andreas Just. He works on the interaction of satellite galaxies and the Milky Way disc in the context of SFB 881.

01.11.2011    Jan Rybizki is PhD student in the group of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Andreas Just. He works on the chemodynamical evolution of the Milky Way disc in the context of SFB 881.

15.10.2011     Philip Saur is a Diploma Student in the Group of Dr. Thorsten Lisker. His field of work is the evolutionary history of galaxy clusters in a model universe.

04.10.2011    Christina Hennig is a master student working with Prof. Grebel and Dr. Schmidt. She studies the galaxy content of relaxed and unrelaxed galaxy clusters.

01.10.2011    Alexey Mints is postdoc in the group of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Andreas Just. He works on the impact of giant molecular clouds on the evolution of star clusters in the context of SFB 881.

01.10.2011    Alberto Nardin is a graduate student in the group of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Andreas Just. He works on the phase space structure of stellar populations in the extended solar neighbourhood in the framework of SFB 881.

01.10.2011    Florian Rothmaier works on the development of Virtual Observatory services within the data center at ARI. He is part of the GAVO project (Prof. Wambsganß).

01.09.2011    Fabian Köhlinger is a Diploma Student in the group of Prof. Wambsganß. He works the gravitational lensing effect of galaxy clusters.

15.08.2011    Dr. Corrado Boeche is a postdoc in the group of Prof. Grebel. He works on stellar abundance analyses in large spectroscopic surveys in the context of SFB 881.

13.08.2011    Mohamad Abbas is a graduate student in the group of Prof. Grebel. He works on halo substructure using RR Lyrae stars in the framework of SFB 881.

01.08.2011    Marcus Hauser is a postdoc in the Gaia group. He is working on the preparation of the so-called First Look on the Gaia science data.

15.07.2011    John Vickers is a graduate student in the group of Prof. Grebel. He works on the Milky Way substructure and satellites in the framework of the European Union Initial Training Network "GREAT".

01.06.2011    Akin Yildirim is a graduate student of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Stefan Jordan. He is working on magnetic white dwarfs.

11.05.2011     Christiane Diehl is a diploma student in the group of Prof. Wambsganß. Her field of work is Gravitational Microlensing by Extrasolar Planets.

01.05.2011     Dr. Avon Huxor is a postdoc in the group of Prof. Grebel. He works on star clusters and galaxy evolution.

01.05.2011    Dr. Stefan Schmeja is a new postdoc working with Prof. Grebel, Dr. Schilbach, and Dr. Röser on open star clusters in the Milky Way.

09.03.2011    André Herling is diploma student in the group of Prof. Grebel. He studies the integrated properties of dwarf galaxies in galaxy groups.

13.01.2011     Dr. Cecilia Scorza will organize the public outreach activities for SFB 881, working as one of the ZAH employees at the Haus der Astronomie.

25.11.2010    Patrick Brem is diploma student in the group of Prof. Spurzem. He investigates the influence of spins on the gravitational wave emission of binary black holes via numerical simulations.

05.11.2010    Benjamin Röckis a new diploma student in the group of Prof. Grebel. He works on Cepheids in open star clusters.

11.10.2010    Eduard Bopp is a bachelor student in the group of Prof. Wambsganß. He works on gravitational mircrolensing.

01.10.2010     Dr. Christoph Olzcak iis member of the group Prof. Spurzem. He investigates the dynamics of young (embedded) star clusters and the evolution of protoplanetary discs via numerical simulations and near-infrared observations.

16.09.2010    Tobias Brandt is a diploma student in the group of Dr. Andreas Just. His field of work is dynamical heating of the galactic disc.

01.07.2010     Dr. Anna Pasquali is postdoc in the group of Prof. Grebel. Her research interests range from stellar evolution and stellar populations to galaxy evolution and galaxy ecology.

01.05.2010     Dr. Peter Berczik is member in the group of Rainer Spurzem. His field of work is Astrophysical Computer Simulations Using Programmable Hardware.

19.04.2010    Johannes Reppin is a Bachelor-Student in the group of Prof. Spurzem. His field of work is computer Models of Evolution of Star Clusters

03.03.2010    Dr. Veronica Lora is postdoc in the group of Prof. Grebel. She works on intermediate-mass black holes and gas loss in dwarf galaxies.

01.03.2010     Gabriel Stöckle is member of the project WissGrid. His field of work is conception and development in e-Science, in particular WissGrid and AstroGrid-D

18.01.2010    Ms. Alessandra Grassi has joined the group of Dr. Schäfer as a PhD student to work on gravitational lensing and the interpretation of weak cosmic shear data, in particular the estimation of cosmological parameters from 3d weak cosmic shear
