Heidelberg, July 10, 2009 Dear colleagues, The almost final program for the conference "The Milky Way and the Local Group - Now and in the Gaia Era" is now on-line at the conference web page, http://www.ari.uni-heidelberg.de/meetings/milkyway2009/program.html We have received a large number of poster abstracts. In addition, all the proposed talks that we could not accommodate as an oral contribution have been converted into posters. The list of posters, sorted alphabetically by first author, is appended to this message. We now have more than 80 contributions on this list. We kindly ask you to check this list and to let us know about any mistakes. Also, please let us know if you would like to withdraw a poster (or a talk converted into a poster). We need to know the number of posters in order to be able to order the appropriate number of poster boards. Finally, I would like to pass on a cautionary note (and thank Mario Juric for noticing that): If you decide to take the door-to-door shuttle TLS from Frankfurt airport to your hotel, please note that the TLS web site through which you would transmit your credit card information is not encrypted (i.e., does not use https). Hence you may want to call the TLS shuttle instead to pass on your credit card information or pay them in cash. Best wishes, Eva Grebel --=_instmail2.uni-heidelberg.de-2598-1247215335-0001-2 Content-Type: text/plain; name="Posterliste-milkyway_080709.txt"; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="Posterliste-milkyway_080709.txt" List of Posters Abbas et al.: Global astrometric Sphere reconstruction in Gaia: challenges and first results Ahumada et al.: The VISTA Variable Survey in the Via Lactea (VVV) Aparicio et al.: IAC-POP: FINDING THE STAR FORMATION HISTORY OF RESOLVED GALAXIES Babusiaux et al.: Metallicity and kinematics along the Bulge minor-axis Balaguer-Nunez et al.: Spectroscopy of pre-CV candidates in open cluster M67 Banhatti et al.: Mass Distribution, Rotation Curves and Gravity Theories Bastian: Gaia core processing Beers et al.: The Metallicity Distribution Function(s) of Stars with High Radial Velocities Blomme et al.: Massive Stars and Emission-line Stars with Gaia Bobylev et al.: Kinematics of the TYCHO-2 Red Giant Clump Stars Bobylev et al.: THE ANALYSIS OF GALACTIC ROTATION CURVE ON THE DATA ON YOUNG OBJECTS Bovy et al.: Dynamical inference from a kinematic snapshot Bragaglia et al.: Properties of first and second generation stars in Globular Clusters Breddels et al.: Distance determination for RAVE stars using stellar models Brunthaler et al.: Microarcsecond astrometry of external Galaxies Carlson et al.: Two Magellanic Cloud Star-Forming Clusters from Optical to Infrared Carraro: Stellar population in the Canis Major overdensity Carraro: Old open clusters in the outer Galactic disk: kith or kin?
