ARIBIB

ARI Bibliographical Database for Astronomical References

How to register for access to the ARIBIB ?

The database ARIBIB is freely available in the Internet to subscribers of the printed bibliography 'Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts' (AAA).

The registration gives usually free access to a full 'domain', e.g. to all computers of an observatory. It is therefore in most cases not necessary (and not desirable) to register all the desk computers of individual astronomers or librarians.

In order to register for access to the ARIBIB, your institution has to send a special
'Registration Form for Free Access to the Bibliographical Database ARIBIB'
to the ARIBIB Registration at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut Heidelberg (ARI).

For rapid registration, your institution should fill in an on-line registration form:
Click here to fill in this 'rapid registration form'.
Submitting the 'rapid registration form' gives you preliminary access to the ARIBIB only.

For the final, permanent registration, your institution has to fill in a paper version of the registration form. The paper version of the registration form can be obtained as a PS or PDF file from the Internet.
Click here for getting the paper version of the final registration form from the Internet as a PS file.
Click here for getting the paper version of the final registration form from the Internet as a PDF file.
Having obtained the PS or PDF file of the registration form, you can print it from your computer on your own printer. If it is more convenient for you, you can ask the ARI for getting a paper version of the registration form by post mail. In any case, the completed paper version of the registration form should be send by post mail to the address given on that form. We would like to receive the final registration form not later than a few weeks after the rapid registration.
